Ellen offers short and long term training to riders of all ages, levels and experience. She can offer training, support, guidance and management to help students plan, set and achieve goals and succeed in the sport.

You will have superb access to weekly international shows, local training shows and excellent on-site training facilities.

Our lovely new 10 year old mare Amaretto Daisy came into her own today, so close to the win with a second place in the very competitive 3* 1.45 LR.

Daisy has previous links to the Whitaker family dynasty as she was produced and purchased from Ellen's brother Thomas Whitaker. 

Ellen is "very excited for next season with the new lovely group of horses we have".

The good results kept coming at Peelbergen this weekend with exciting wins for Righteous, his second in 2 weeks, and Quainton X-Rated. 

On Thursday, Tilly Shaw’s Righteous kept his form and skipped his way round the 2* 1.40 MT qualifier to take the win. Ellen’s new ride, Emma Phillips’ lovely home-bred stallion by Big Star, Quainton X-Rated looked extremely promising to take the win in the CSIYH1* 7 yo. 

The weekend continued with consistent performances from all the horses.  “I’m very lucky to have such a lovely bunch of horses and such supportive owners,” said Ellen “I’m looking forward to seeing what the future brings.”


A Golden Day at Peelbergen 

A field of 69 horses contended the Prijs Stephex Horse Trucks - CSI2* - Two Phases Special - 1.40m.  In an exciting jump off in 34.95 Ellen and Righteous claimed the victory beating Max Routledge on Vanda Mclaren by nearly 2 seconds.

“He felt great,” said Ellen.  “He’s so fun to ride an so game, he finished his round with a big smile on his face.”

“Since using the ActivoMed system, we’ve noticed a big difference in our horses”, says Isabel Ledin, Ellen’s yard manager “They all find a way to connect with it, whether it be to relax and soften their muscles before training or competing, or help the horses who tend to be a bit stressed or stiff become more balanced.”  Isabel adds “After riding, they all really enjoy the 1 hour recovery program - it relaxes them and helps their bodies bounce back quicker.”

ActivoMed, a Big Hit in our Stables 

It's a very exciting day welcoming a new addition to the team, the lovely 6 year old stallion Chacoons Gisa Blue Z.

Owned in partnership with Glen Nielsen, this exciting young stallion is showing great promise at CSIYH1* level.

"I'm looking forward to forming a lovely bond with Gisa Blue, and producing him through the levels," said Ellen "He's such a lovely boy, with a great temperament and super jump.  He's very easy to do and loves his job, I'm excited to be part of his journey."

Amy Mason’s J Superstar (Chamen x Superstar), showed his talent and quality this weekend with 3 faultless classes in the 1.35/1.40 Small Tour at Peelbergen, Kronenberg.

An exciting Table A on 11th November saw him take home the win, with double clears in his 1.35 and 1.40 classes at the same show.

‘He’s such a lovely horse to ride,” said Ellen, “He loves his job and finds it all extremely easy.  He’s definitely one of my rides of the future and I am really enjoying producing him.”


A Hat-trick of Clears for J Superstar at Peelbergen. 9-12 November 2022

To the delight of spectators, the opening day of the Jumping Indoor Maastricht CSI 4*, November 04, 2022 was an exciting crowd pleaser -  with Maikel van der Vleuten (NED), this year’s World Championship bronze medal winner winning the 1.50m competition and Ellen Whitaker (GBR) and Equine America Spacecake (Stakkatol x Kannan), right on their heels, finishing a tiny two-tenths of a second slower, crossing the jump-off timers in 36.63 seconds.  

The level of the competition was high and the final results featured three nations in the top three positions.

14. Equine America Spacecake

A Great 2nd Place in the €40,000 VDL Groep Prijs CSI 4* at Maastricht

The Thistledown Cup certainly didn’t disappoint this year at HOYS, with Ellen Whitaker and Equine America Spacecake holding onto the 8th qualifying spot to go through to an exciting jump off.  First in, carrying her 4 faults from the first round, Ellen put down a scorching time and jumped clear, putting a lot of pressure on the 7 riders above her, 4 faults and 39.20 to beat!  Her exciting round saw her move up to finish in 4th place with her 4 faults from the first round, but a second and a half faster than winner Lilly Attwood, 

The Grandstand Challenge Cup opened Saturday evening’s proceedings, where a total of 29 horse and rider combinations including Ellen Whitaker and Equine America Ivanhoe GPH came forward in the first round to compete for a prize fund totalling £20,000.  Fence three, which featured a water tray, was proving a stickler while the tall opposing white fence at 9, also knocked out a selection of the class’s contenders, but proved no challenge to Ellen and Equine America Ivanhoe who posted a lovely clear to go through to the jump off.

Eight imposing fences made up the jump-off round, each spaced evenly to encourage speed while demanding accuracy.  Ellen and Equine America Ivanhoe GPH showcased professional etiquette and skill, jumping a fast clear to arrive at the finish line clear, with 1 second to spare against the leading round. However, Ellen’s was only the start quality rounds to come which culminated in a well deserved 5th for Equine America Ivanhoe who really came into his own in the electric indoor atmosphere.

A Thistledown Cup and Grandstand Challenge Cup to Remember at HOYS 2022

Great Britain’s young squad of Ellen Whitaker (Equine America Spacecake), Lily Attwood (Cor-Leon VD Vlierbeek Z), Jodie Hall McAteer (Salt’N Peppa) and Joe Stockdale (Equine America Cacharel) finished fifth, and chef d’equipe Di Lampard said: “I was so proud because Barcelona is no giveaway – it’s a sudden-death championship.”

“We went straight through [to Sunday’s final], by the skin of our teeth!” she added. “This was Lily’s first time into the team at five-star level, a massive step up for a 20-year-old, and Jodie is getting much better at the level, while Joe has shown his maturity – that last fence was cruel though!” she said, of his faults at the final oxer, which denied him a share of the €100,000 double-clear bonus.

“Ellen’s rounds were fantastic – to lead us out, and to lead everyone out on the last day. My goodness can she ride in that ring! The spirit with this young group of riders is brilliant, I was so proud of the way they came back. They did the country proud and what a season to look forward to next year.”
